Gully boy is one of the good Bollywood movies. I can't believe that Indian Hip-Hop can be portrayed so beautifully. The storyline is quite predictable, yet heartwarming and immensely energetic, and motivating. The script is written nicely and Zoya's touch creates the magic here with some impressive and strong performances. The movie is based on the lives of rappers and an underdog who dreams big because he believes, in Apna Time Aega.
Ranveer and Alia are just terrific. Their chemistry works really well with adequate fizz. A special appreciation comes for Siddhant Chaturvedi the hidden gem of the industry. He roars throughout the story.
Murad (Ranveer) lives in the slums of Mumbai and writes poetry. He is in love with a feisty Safeena, an aspiring doctor played by Alia. Then comes the MC Sher played by Siddhant, an underground rapper who takes Murad under his wings and mentors him, guiding him in the art of rap battles.
