Stress and crippling fear are a fact for many young students in India. More so, for those who take part in intensely demanding engineering and medical entrance tests. And even those who struggle to meet the standards find themselves in a whirlpool of uncertainty and depression. Incapable of disappointment in the face of family and social pressure, they frequently turn to acts that may trigger irreparable harm to themselves and their lives.
Though this grim truth is at the core of Chhichhore's storey, his heart and soul are solely reserved for carefree college and hostel days that form life bonds and life lessons.
Annirudh (Sushant Singh Rajput) was lovingly nicknamed Anni by his college friends, and Maya (Shraddha Kapoor), a divorced couple, found themselves in a desperate situation when their teenage son, Raghav, attempted suicide. Doctors agree he's vital, not just emotionally, but also psychologically. Annirudh claims that the best way to get him out of this darkness is to send Raghav into his memory path (back to his hostel days from engineering college).
